How to use Fraud Blocker's API

Fraud Blocker allows their customers to access their reporting data via our API.

This data can be accessed in 2 different ways:

  1. Direct API

  2. Zapier integration

What data can I access with the API?

You can access the following Fraud Blocker data points:

1) Fraud Blocker Account Metrics

This is data based on your visitor activity analyzed by Fraud Blocker. It is available in various time ranges for your account- and domain-level data.

  • Estimated Savings

  • Fraud Blocker's "Fraud Score"

  • Total Ad Clicks

  • Total Invalid Ad Clicks

  • Invalid Ad Clicks by Device:

    • By device (Mobile/Desktop)

    • By Ad channel (Google/Meta)

  • Invalid Ad Clicks by Fraud Type:

    • Excessive Clicks

    • Accidental Clicks

    • Abusive / Blacklist / Poor IP History

    • VPN / Tor / Datacenter

    • Risky Geo

    • Risky Device

2) Benchmark Metrics COMING SOON

  • Fraud Blocker (anonymous data across all 5k Fraud Blocker user accounts)

    • Avg. Invalid Click Rate

    • Avg. Invalid Click Rate by Fraud Type

    • Avg. Invalid Click Rate by Channel (e.g Google, Meta)

  • Google Ads (anonymous data across 50k Google accounts)

    • Avg. CTR

3) IP Address Fraud Score COMING SOON

  • Fraud Score of any IP address

  • List of all Abusive/Blacklist IP Addresses

Example use cases

By using our API, customers can import their Fraud Blocker reporting data to other software tools. This includes, but is not limited to:

1. Agency Dashboards: Send your Fraud Blocker data to your dashboards so your clients can view your fraud prevention performance alongside other PPC metrics.

2. Worksheets: Send Fraud Blocker data to worksheets to sort and filter alongside other PPC performance results to find areas for optimizations.

3. Messaging: Send Fraud Blocker data to Slack or email on a regular basis so teams can quickly track performance and results.

Authentication

To access our APIs you will need our API key. This is available in your Fraud Blocker account at https://app.fraudblocker.com/account/api

Note: this feature is available for free to all plan types for during the limited-time introductory period.

How to build your first Zapier integration

Here's a step-by-step process to build a sample automation (a "Zap") that sends data from Fraud Blocker to an app of your choice:

Step 1: Get Your API Key

  1. Create an account at Fraud Blocker

  2. Go to the API page under "Account"

  3. Click "Create API key" button

  4. Copy the API key

Step 2: Create a Zapier Account

Create an account at Zapier.

Note: A Zapier account is required. This is free for standard 2-step sequences. More advanced sequences can require their "Professional" plan which starts at $29.99 /mo (with a 14-day free trial).

Step 4: Create the Zap

We offer Zapier "triggers" and "actions." For this example, we're using a "trigger" to send Fraud Blocker data to Google Sheets (a popular option), but there are many options for you to create your own workflow.

  1. Select "Create" > "Zaps"

2. Add these 2 apps:

  • Fraud Blocker

  • Google Sheets

It should look like this:

Step 5: Configure the Zaps

Configure each Zap as follows:

  1. Fraud Blocker

    1. Setup: Select action event of "Domain-Level" or "Account-Level." For "Account," select "Connect a new account (this is where you add your API Key)

    2. Configure: Add a domain name (if applicable) and select the timeframe of data you wish to see in your output.

  2. Google Sheets

    1. Setup: Select action event of "Create Multiple Spreadsheet Rows." For "Account," you must connect to your Google Drive. This allows the Zap to publish data to your Google Sheet.

    2. Configure: Select to a Spreadsheet. Special Note: We have created a pre-formatted spreadsheet for you. You may access this here. Then connect the Zapier Account to this Spreadsheet and Worksheet. You will then need to map each data output to the same column name in the worksheet. By entering "/" inside each field, it will provide a range of data options for you to choose from.

If completed successfully, every day the Spreadsheet will be updated with performance activity from your Fraud Blocker account.
