"Email Verifier" is an exciting addition to Fraud Blocker's suite of click fraud prevention, IP analysis and data enrichment tools.
This feature allows you to block your web site visitors if they submit a fake or invalid email address in your lead forms. By blocking these users, you are excluding their IP address in your ad campaigns and preventing your ads from serving to those bad users.
How does Fraud Blocker capture emails?
Fraud Blocker requires their Fraud Tracker script be installed on your website. This is the same script that is used for all of its features, including its click fraud protection service. Existing customers do not need to install a new script.
This script is able to detect email fields in your lead forms and capture the email address provided when the user submits the form.
How does Fraud Blocker know an email is valid?
Fraud Blocker uses a leading third-party email verification service to determine if an email is valid, invalid or other.
This is done by performing comprehensive checks, including syntax analysis to ensure correct format, DNS record checks for the domain's mail servers, and SMTP pings to confirm the recipient's mailbox actually exists.
It also identifies other risk factors like temporary email addresses, catch-all domains, and spam traps, providing a detailed status code that indicates if the email is truly valid and deliverable or if it poses a risk to sender reputation.
What email deliverability statuses are provided?
Here is a complete list of email statuses that Fraud Blocker provides:
Valid
Alternate emails - These are valid emails that are valid but likely to be secondary addresses for the users. Alternate emails are often used to sign up for accounts but do not see much engagement.
Alias emails - Emails that act as forwarders and are not real inboxes. For example, if you email “[email protected],” your email is forwarded to “[email protected].”
Invalid emails - These emails are invalid and undeliverable.
Spamtraps - Emails that are valid but likely to be secondary addresses for the users. Alternate emails are often used to sign up for accounts but do not see much engagement.
Catch-alls - These emails are impossible to validate without sending a real email and confirming. “Catch-all” means that the email server tells us that the email is valid, whether it's valid or invalid. Block with caution.
Abusive emails - These emails are of people known to click the abuse links in emails.
Do not mail - These are emails that are disposable, toxic (known to be abusive), role-based (such as info@), global abusive suppression emails and possible traps. They are valid email addresses, but shouldn't be mailed in most cases.
Unknown emails - These emails couldn’t be validated for various reasons. Typical cases include an offline mail server or an anti-spam email system. In most cases, 80% of unknowns are bad email addresses.

Security
Your privacy is extremely important to us. We do not capture emails from your website under any circumstances until you "enable" our email verification service.
Once enabled, emails are only captured from the Lead Form URLs you provide and will only be used for the sole purpose of fraud detection. Emails will not be used for marketing, account creation or any other purpose and are also automatically deleted after 90 days.

Trouble shooting & FAQ
Emails field is "not detected"
The installation of lead forms and sign up forms vary significantly across websites. Some are native to your web building software and some use plugins or <iframes>
.
Our internal tests show that our standard Fraud Tracker script can detect over 80% of lead forms, however if you still receive "not detected" then you can try our adding our secondary code snippet inside your lead form's <iframe>
. This is found under "Integrations" and can help talk to our primary fraud tracker script.

The emails appearing in my reports don't match the one captured by my CRM or lead form software
Fraud Blocker displays the last email address submitted by a user in a single session.
If the user submits multiple emails in a single session, then we display the last one submitted. If the user submits an email and then submits a second email in a new session later on, then we would display the last email submitted for each session.
How long do you block users for?
Fraud Blocker will continue to block the IP address for as long as you have set your Customizations
How accurate is Fraud Blocker in determining if an email is valid?
Fraud Blocker uses an third-party service that provide an industry-leading 99.6% accuracy. With that, we guarantee actual results, not a surplus of “unknown” emails that leave you no better off than where you started.
