Email Spam Protection is an email verification tool that helps prevent fake email on your lead forms.
Overall, it's an exciting addition to our suite of click fraud prevention, IP analysis and data enrichment tools.
How to verify emails with Fraud Blocker
We provide 2 ways to verify emails:
Single email verification: This verifies email addresses that you provide to check if they are valid or not.
Auto-verification for lead forms: This automatically verifies email addresses submitted in your lead forms. You can then choose to block website visitors if they submit a fake or invalid email address.
How does Fraud Blocker know an email is valid?
Our software uses a leading third-party email verification service to determine if an email is valid, invalid or other.
This is done by performing comprehensive checks, including syntax analysis to ensure correct format, DNS record checks for the domain's mail servers, and SMTP pings to confirm the recipient's mailbox actually exists.
It also identifies other risk factors like temporary email addresses, catch-all domains, and spam traps, providing a detailed status code that indicates if the email is truly valid and deliverable or if it poses a risk to sender reputation.

What email verification results are provided?
Here is a complete list of email statuses that our software provides:
VALID
Valid emails - These are deliverable emails that belong to an active recipient who can receive and engage with emails
Alternate emails - These are valid emails that are valid but likely to be secondary addresses for the users. Alternate emails are often used to sign up for accounts but do not see much engagement.
Alias emails - Emails that act as forwarders and are not real inboxes. For example, if you email “[email protected],” your email is forwarded to “[email protected].”
INVALID
Invalid emails - These emails are invalid and undeliverable.
OTHER
Spam traps - ISPs and blacklist providers create spam traps to lure in spammers and block their emails.
Catch-alls - These emails are impossible to verify without sending a real email and confirming. “Catch-all” means that the email server tells us that the email is valid, whether it's valid or invalid. Block with caution.
Abusive emails - These emails are of people known to click the abuse links in emails.
Do not mail - These are emails that are disposable (temporary), toxic (known to be abusive), role-based (such as info@), global abusive suppression emails and possible traps. They are valid email addresses, but shouldn't be mailed in most cases.
Unknown emails - These emails couldn’t be verified for various reasons. Typical cases include an offline mail server or an anti-spam email system. In most cases, 80% of unknowns are bad email addresses.

Note: Email addresses and verification results can take approx. 30 minutes to appear in your reports (learn more about our Data Freshness)
To block invalid emails
If a user came from an ad click on Google or Meta, then you can block their IP address if they submitted an invalid email address.
A "blocked" IP address is sent to your ad campaign's exclusions list to prevent ads from being served to those users. This help prevent repeated fake leads by the same user from seeing and clicking on your ads.
To block users with invalid emails:
Go to Customizations > Email Blocking
Select the verification status you would like to block
Once blocking options are selected, you can view the IP addresses that are blocked
Here are the verification options you can chose to block:

Fraud Blocker does not automatically block IP addresses from invalid email addresses. Customers decide to block using our Customizations based on their own preferences.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
How accurate is Fraud Blocker in determining if an email is valid?
Our software uses a third-party service that provides an industry-leading 99.6% accuracy. With that, we guarantee actual results, not a surplus of “unknown” emails that leave you no better off than where you started.
Which types of lead forms can Fraud Blocker detect submitted emails on?
We can detect emails in over 90% of lead forms, however they can be tricky as they can be built a dozen different ways - such as custom html, plugins, short codes, and iframes.
We've tested our email verification on the following forms:
✅ Able to read emails from these lead forms:
Hubspot
Salesforce ("Web-to-Lead" forms)
Gravity forms
Ninja forms
Zoho
Elementor theme
Wordpress native editor
Klayvio
Fluent forms (most forms work, but not their "conversational form" type)
Mailchimp
Constant Contact
Majority of custom HTML forms
❌ Unable to read emails from these lead forms (yet!)
Jotform
Quform
All forms using iframes
The email field is "not detected" on the setup page
Send a test lead through your lead form and then select the "retry" button on the Email verification setup menu.
Not every form works, but if you believe yours works as described above, please contact us.
What's the cost?
Email verification is available for all PRO and Enterprise plans.
Auto-verification for lead forms has unlimited usage for all plans; all emails verified from lead forms are included.
Single email verification has usage limits based on the level of plan you purchase with us. One credit is used for each email that is successfully verified. See our plan pricing for credit limits for each plan level.
How does Fraud Blocker detect emails in my lead forms?
Our Fraud Tracker script must be installed on your website. This is the same script that is used for all of its features, including its click fraud protection service. Existing customers do not need to install a new script.
This script is able to detect email fields in your lead forms and capture the email address provided when the user submits the form. If the user submits multiple emails in a single session, then we display the last one submitted (see FAQ below for more details on multiple submissions).
Do you prevent emails from being submitted?
No. Your email submissions will remain undistributed. By using our software, you can prevent ads from being shown to users that submit bad email addresses in your forms, thus focusing your ad spend on higher-quality users.
The emails appearing in my reports don't match the one captured by my CRM or lead form software
Our software displays the last email address submitted by a user in a single session.
If the user submits multiple emails in a single session, then we display the last one submitted. If the user submits an email and then submits a second email in a new session later on, then we would display the last email submitted for each session.
How long do you block users for?
Our software will continue to block the IP address for as long as you your email Customizations set.
About your security
Your privacy is extremely important to us. We do not capture emails from your website under any circumstances until you "enable" our email verification service.
Once enabled, emails are only captured from the Lead Form URLs you provide and will only be used for the sole purpose of fraud detection. Emails will not be used for marketing, account creation or any other purpose and are also automatically deleted after 90 days.
For more information about our handling of your data, visit our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
